KIKKOMAN PANKO BREAD CRUMBS

Whenever I encountered this subpar packaging at the grocery store, I couldn't help but wonder about its design shortcomings. Motivated by my curiosity, I took it upon myself to revamp the packaging, striving to incorporate my passion for typography. As a part of this endeavor, I set a personal challenge to retain all the original text while enhancing its overall visual appeal.

I must express my disappointment with the packaging design as it leaves much to be desired. Right from the start, I am immediately drawn to the glaring issues, such as the stretched typography in the words "Japanese style" and "bread crumbs." It's evident that careful attention was not given to maintaining proper proportions, resulting in a visually unappealing look.
Furthermore, I find it perplexing that the phrase "bread crumbs" is outlined in yellow on a yellow background. The only reason it manages to catch one's eye is due to the outdated drop shadow effect. This choice not only lacks creativity, but it also fails to showcase a well-thought-out design approach.
Another aspect that troubles me is the excessive use of colors throughout the packaging. Instead of creating a harmonious and visually pleasing composition, the accumulation of colors only adds to the chaotic feel of the design. It is essential to understand that simplicity and elegance often go hand in hand when it comes to effective packaging.
Lastly, I cannot overlook the unappetizing photograph of fried shrimp prominently displayed on the front. The lackluster presentation fails to entice the consumer and leaves a negative impression. A carefully chosen, visually appealing image would have been far more enticing and persuasive.
Overall, this packaging design falls short of its potential. It lacks attention to detail, cohesiveness, and fails to evoke a desirable response from its intended audience. There is a clear need for improvement in order to create a well-designed piece that truly captivates and engages.
